Stephanie and James’ Tea Party-Inspired Wedding

The Lenox Hotel, Boston

about the Wedding

Stephanie and James were married at The Lenox Hotel in Boston on a gorgeous summer day. When Catherine reached out to me with her vision for their English garden-meets-tea party inspired design, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to kick off my custom invitation design service.

Their invitation featured a two-color letterpress design, calligraphy-forward and framed in a floral pattern. The vintage silhouette wax seal was the inspiration for the reply card - shaped in an oval and framed in the same pattern. Silk ribbon was used to tie the suite together in their palette of rose, antique gold, and dusty blue. For the day-of stationery, we leaned fully into the tea party theme. Their signature mocktail was named accordingly, and we tied in teacup shaped place cards into the design. The same floral pattern, oval shapes, and calligraphy were carried through the signage, table numbers, and menu design for a cohesive experience.

I love how Catherine was able to encompass so much of Stephanie and James’ personalities into the entire design. There were quintessential New England details woven throughout the day - from portraits in the Public Garden to their Bruins jersey guestbook to late-night Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

As you can see from the photos, these two are just so sweet and full of joy. Stephanie and James, wishing you both the most joyful marriage and a lifetime of love together!

As a wedding planner, it's essential to collaborate with vendors who can truly understand and bring my clients' vision to life, and Emily did just that. Her creativity is unmatched, and she was able to capture the essence of the couple’s style perfectly. I even received an email from the groom the week of the wedding saying that her design was what he was looking forward to the most!
