about the wedding

Alison presented her vision for her wedding day as “old world romance and charm inspired by Venice, with a modern aesthetic through use of bright, unstructured and colorful palettes in flowers and decor.” Talk about a dream! Combining their coastal Newport venue with a vintage Italian charm and lots of color was my favorite kind of creative challenge.

We accomplished this vision through 3 key pieces. The first was a custom monogram with a hand-drawn wreath for that old-world touch, which was carried through their invitations, wax seals, and day-of signage. A mixture of current and vintage postage tied in elements of their venue and the Italian inspiration. Finally, a colorful ombre escort display with oyster shells and silk twine added to the bright and unstructured feel. Ali and Steve were dream clients and I adore what we created together!

“Emily was nothing short of amazing to work with. Initially, I had reached out for her to do my invites but in working with her she ended up doing so much more! I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted, but with just a few inspiration pictures Emily was able to design us an entire suite of stationery that was everything I could have wanted for our wedding day.”
